One definitely can’t argue with a $10 for three months workaround to the HBO Now/Apple exclusive. I dont think you can sign up with iTunes on Windows. As far as I can tell - the ONLY way to sign up for HBONow is with an Apple device - iPad, Apple TV, iPhone. Funny enough, I was setting it all up 14 hours ago.

After you’ve done that, it’s as simple as entering your HBO Now login information into the Channels tab in the PlayOn settings screen.Īfter that you should be set up and ready to go and be able to watch HBO Now on a variety of non-Apple devices to your heart’s content by following the setup instructions on the PlayOn website. I really want to get HBO Now, but I dont want to watch it on an Apple device.

That’s changed with a new offer from PlayOn – a browser and media server which allows you to watch shows, movies, and personal media on your PC or on your TV when used with an Xbox, PlayStation, Wii, Roku, or other streaming device. In an impressive, though space-consuming feat, Apple provides users with both a high-definition video for computer and Apple TV use, as well as one that’s lower. I am not 100 certain on that question - while you will certainly have an HBO Now account which you could use on another device if they make the app for it, the billing may need to be changed because its through iTunes/Apple ID right now I think - sorry I dont know for sure. Because of the exclusive, the only way you could access HBO Now for the next three months is by signing up and watching it with an Apple device. Yesterday, Apple announced that the iTunes Store was now selling 20 high-definition movies for viewing on a computer, as well as renting computer-ready versions for 4-5 in the same way that it has been through the Apple TV. If you're already signed in, tap the Settings icon (upper-left), then scroll down and choose Sign Out.

I downloaded the (free) app and subscribed for it on my iPhone (though an in app purchase/subscription) last night and was watching on my Windows 8 HTPC later that evening. Here's how to sign in on your phone or tablet: Open the HBO Max app and then tap the Profile icon (bottom edge on phones, left edge on tablets). One of the wonderful things in this digital age is there’s almost always a workaround, and luckily for non-iDevice users that holds true for Apple’s three-month HBO Now exclusive as well. Just to confirm what others have pointed out, you can in fact watch HBO Now on your computer, in a browser, so long as you register for it using an iOS device.
